Know Your Risk

Cardiovascular disease is the No. 1 killer of men and women in the United States. According to the American Heart Association, more than 2,150 Americans die of CVD each day, an average of 1 death every 40 seconds. Coronary heart disease is the most common type of heart disease, killing more than 370,000 people annually.

Most people who die suddenly from heart disease have no previous symptoms. While heart disease can be hereditary, there are many other risk factors when it comes to your heart health.

The good news is that there are many steps women can take to be aware of their heart disease risk before it becomes a serious health concern. In an effort to meet the mission of making Sussex County the healthiest county in the nation, Beebe Healthcare offers a variety of screening options to help you understand your risk for cardiovascular diseases.

If you have questions or need more information about cardiovascular procedures, contact Carrie Snyder, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC—Beebe Healthcare’s cardiac nurse navigator—by calling (844) 316-3334 or emailing cardiacnavigator@beebehealthcare.org.
